Bitcoin Design Guide
The Bitcoin Design Guide is an open-source resource for people building bitcoin products, with reference designs covering savings wallets, backup and recovery, inheritance wallets, shared wallets and time-based recovery. It documents common user flows, bitcoin backup approaches and accessibility considerations.
Bitcoin Dev Kit (BDK)
A set of libraries maintained by the BDK Foundation for building Bitcoin wallets, covering descriptors, coin selection, PSBTs and pluggable chain backends such as Electrum, Esplora and Bitcoin Core RPC.
Bitcoin Optech
Bitcoin Optech publishes a weekly newsletter, podcast, topic pages and case studies that track changes to Bitcoin Core, wallets, services and the wider protocol. It exists to help bitcoin businesses and engineers adopt scaling and efficiency techniques.
Bitcoin.org Choose Your Wallet
Bitcoin.org's Choose Your Wallet section is a long-standing reference that helps newcomers pick a bitcoin wallet by platform and by criteria such as control of keys, validation, transparency, privacy and fees. The wider site also hosts getting-started material, documentation and a vocabulary for self-custody concepts.
BitDevs
BitDevs is a community for people who want to discuss and participate in the research and development of Bitcoin and related protocols, best known for its regular Socratic Seminars. Meetings are hosted in cities worldwide with New York City as the longest-running chapter.
BitPLATES Domino One
A metal plate marked by indenting single dots next to the correct letters, creating a permanent record of seed words or a passphrase with no tiles and no stamp set. A half-size Domino One 2 variant covers 12-word phrases at the same metal composition, thickness and grid depth.
BTC Sessions
BTC Sessions has been producing bitcoin tutorials, interviews and panels since 2016, with a focus on walking beginners through using wallets and bitcoin tools step by step. It also runs local and international educational and community initiatives and offers one-on-one coaching.
BTCPay Server
A self-hosted, open-source Bitcoin payment processor. Merchants run it on their own node to accept on-chain and Lightning payments with no third-party custody, fees or KYC, and it also serves as a wallet and hardware-wallet coordinator.
Caravan
Caravan is a free and open-source bitcoin multisig coordinator, originally released by Unchained and now maintained as the Caravan FOSS monorepo. It runs in the browser and lets users build and spend from multisig wallets without trusting a hosted service with their keys.
CKBunker
CKBunker is Coinkite's open-source software for running a Coldcard in HSM mode so transactions can be authorised over Tor according to a preset policy. It is aimed at teams and businesses that need policy-controlled signing while retaining their own keys.
Coinkite SATSCARD
A Coinkite NFC card that holds up to ten separate bitcoin slots. Each slot can be unsealed by peeling a tab on the back to reveal the private key, so a loaded card can be physically handed to another person.
Coinkite TAPSIGNER
A credit-card-shaped NFC signing device from Coinkite. The private key is generated inside the card's secure element and never leaves it; you tap the card against a phone to approve a Bitcoin transaction.
Coinplate Alpha
Two thick AISI 304 stainless steel plates bolted together into a sandwich that protects a punched recovery phrase. The maker states it holds up to 24 seed words and resists temperatures to 1400°C as well as water and corrosion.
ColdTi Double Titanium Plate Set
A pair of credit-card-sized plates made from commercially pure Grade 2 titanium, sized to take any 12- or 24-word seed. ColdTi describes them as fireproof, waterproof and tamper evident, and they work with any language wordlist.
CoolWallet Pro
A flexible, card-shaped hardware wallet that fits in a physical wallet and pairs with a phone over encrypted Bluetooth. Keys stay in a certified secure element and transactions are confirmed on the card's small e-paper display.
CryptoCloaks
A Colorado maker of 3D-printed Bitcoin accessories, including cases and stands for node hardware, hardware wallet enclosures and seed-storage items. The shop accepts Bitcoin and has been operating since 2017.
Cryptosteel Seed24 Security Kit
Cryptosteel's current-generation capsule backup, sized for a full 24-word recovery phrase. Individual stainless steel character tiles slide onto a rod inside a sealed capsule, so the backup can be re-arranged later without stamping or engraving. The UK-based maker ships worldwide and dispatches orders without external branding.
Cryptotag Zeus
A starter kit built around 6mm-thick titanium plates, crafted in the Netherlands. Instead of letters you punch the BIP39 word numbers, and the kit includes the conversion sheet and punching tools for up to 24 recovery words. Cryptotag states it ships to the United States and sells in over 100 countries.
Cypherock X1
A hardware wallet that replaces a single seed phrase with a tamper-proof device plus four NFC cards, splitting the key so no single item can be lost or stolen to compromise the wallet. Cypherock also builds non-custodial inheritance features on top of this design.
CypherSafe CypherWheel
A stainless steel disc-and-bolt backup built by Numberall Stamp & Tool Company in Maine. Individual stamped tags are threaded onto a central bolt so the phrase stays ordered and can be updated. CypherSafe also sells the hand stamps, rotary stamps and punches to mark it.
DCENT Biometric Wallet
A hardware wallet from DCENT (formerly D'CENT) that unlocks with a built-in fingerprint sensor instead of a PIN pad, and connects to phones over Bluetooth. It supports a broad set of chains and tokens.
DIYnodes Prebuilt RaspiBlitz Node
A prebuilt RaspiBlitz Bitcoin and Lightning node built on a Raspberry Pi 4 with a 1TB SSD, 3.5-inch LCD touchscreen and powder-coated metal case. The RaspiBlitz OS image is downloaded separately from the project's own repository.

Econoalchemist is a blog focused on bitcoin self-custody and censorship resistance, publishing detailed hardware wallet setup guides, privacy tool walkthroughs and interviews. Each guide is mirrored in an accompanying GitHub repository.

Glacier Protocol

Inheriti
Inheriti is a digital inheritance and secret-data protection service that splits sensitive information such as seed phrases into distributed shares. Plans cover personal digital inheritance, data backups, access management and business continuity without the provider holding a usable copy of the secret.
JoinMarket
A Bitcoin coinjoin implementation with a market structure: makers offer their coins for mixing and earn a fee, takers pay to join. It runs against your own Bitcoin Core node and is maintained as an open-source client-server project.
KeepKey
An open-source hardware wallet that has been shipping since 2014 and is now run by KeepKey LLC, with built-in THORChain swap support through its desktop app and browser extension. Firmware is auditable and updates are free.
Keystone Tablet
A 304-grade stainless steel tile-based backup from the Keystone hardware wallet company. Metal letter tiles slot into a screwed-shut housing and support 12, 18 and 24-word phrases without any stamping.
Keystone Tablet Plus
The upgraded Keystone metal backup with double-sided storage and individual slots for each letter tile, so tiles stay in place even if the housing deforms under heat. Made entirely of 304-grade stainless steel and shipped with spare screws, tamper stickers and a screwdriver.
Learn Me A Bitcoin
Learn Me A Bitcoin, by Greg Walker, explains how bitcoin works from beginner concepts through to protocol-level detail, with sections on wallets, security, private and public keys, addresses, scripts, PSBTs and running a node. It also includes a blockchain explorer for inspecting real blocks and transactions.
Ledger Nano S Plus
Ledger's entry-level USB signing device, which keeps private keys in a certified secure element and confirms transactions on a small on-device screen. Ledger lists support for more than 15,000 coins and tokens through its companion wallet app.
Ledger Nano X
A pocket-sized Ledger signing device that adds Bluetooth so it can pair with a phone as well as a computer. Keys stay inside the device's secure element and every transaction is confirmed on its own screen.
Liquid Network
A Bitcoin sidechain operated by a federation, offering Confidential Transactions that hide amounts and asset types from third parties, plus faster settlement and asset issuance. Liquid Bitcoin is held in a two-way peg with Bitcoin.
